Literature Text

Shadows of the self,
Manifest the darkness,
By undisclosed doors of truth.

The shadow is the self,
Though they claim to be truth,
Only the mirror can decide proof.

Parts rejected manifest,
In the cracks under the universe,
Where reality melts into a fog covered field.

Dare not deny the monster,
Less you decree their power to multiply,
And magnify as the shadow becomes one with an I.

Face the dark,
See both sides of the coin,
And wield the card as you call PERSONA
So in persona 4 each of the main characters must fight issues that are troubling them. Which I found the issues presented quite interesting as well as adult and mature. These same issues from my perception are relevant in many people I know as well as myself. Even the All the cut scenes before a Shadow boss fight gives LOTS of thoughts to think about. However I think the two that stand out to me personally are the final boss before the true ending and Yukkio.

Basically in both of these conversations the main point they get at is how they change life, with one being more destructive on how only certain people get to have life full of happiness and others just go through a depressive fate. With Yukkio, her's is being tied down to the things she was born into yet not sure if she can or should leave. The best line to describe it that rings VERY true to my own life is, "I have no hope if I stay and no courage to leave. So I sit on my ASS and hope my prince will come and save me."

I won't explain it but damn is that a fitting line is SO MANY ways. Not much else to say.

The poor Investigation Team.  All of 'em.  Yosuke is bored outta is mind out in "the boonies"; Chie is unpopular among boys and nothing without Yukiko; Yukiko is sick of the path laid out for her, lacks the courage to do anything on her own, and is nothing without "Prince" Chie; Kanji is scared to death of rejection and uncertain of his own sexual orientation; Rise can't find her true self among the many identities she's forged; Teddie is scared that he's hollow inside; Naoto can't show the male-dominated police that she's a girl and hates being treated like a child; and Yu (the protagonist), as shown in the anime, is nothing without companions.
